With the game at halftime, I can't help but think about how we Spartans are going to fare coming out of our huge and embarrassing loss to Iowa last Saturday. It took 8 games for us to build up our credibility as a powerhouse team this year, but only one game to lose it entirely.
Hesitant fans just beginning make their way over to the land of Sparta were quickly sent back to their apprehensive ways. This game against Minnesota, while they aren't the most competitive of teams in the Big Ten, is vastly important. If we can give them a good, sound beating, we can get back on the same track we started out on at the beginning of the season.
The score stands at 21-0, but there's still 30 minutes to go. If Edwin Baker continues to lead the offense, even with Dell off the field, we should be on the path for a much needed win. Baker has scored the first three touchdowns for the Spartans on short runs, and has been the driving force of the offense in getting down the field. The announcers have been calling him the team's "ace in the hole."
Spartans, 8 and 0 is in the past. From here on out, it's a new season, and it starts now.
By the way, Michigan is beating Illinois 28-21. Boo.
So, if you aren't by a T.V., keep up with the game here.
